All details about Loreen’s stage performance
‘Euphoria Guide’: What you didn’t see on the contest
Taking “Euphoria” from Melodifestivalen to the stage in Baku brought some changes. Contribution Producer Rennie Mirro was present in the backstage of Azerbaijan stage during the first rehearsal. He explains how the show changed since March.
The Back Vocals
As the Eurovision rules require that no playback can be used. Sweden has brought new back vocals: Johanna Beijbom, Britta Bergström and Monica Starck. Loreen choosed to pay attention to the back vocals in the international press conference after her first rehearsal.
– I feel even better about it than with the vocals in the pre-recorded version, it becomes more organic now, she said.
The cameras
The production, which will help Loreen to achieve victory in Baku is German.
– Picture Production will probably make it feel larger. From what I understand, they have been pretty nice to follow our wishes, says Rennie Mirro.
The snow
– We can’t have it, unfortunately, the special effect of the snow falling over her, but it will fall around the stage. However, the background gives the impression of dense snow. They can’t remove the snow from the stage in thirty seconds. It was so beautiful when the snow fell directly on her, but there was no way to get through.
The podium
To reduce the risk of Loreen fall off the platform, the stage has now 4 x 5 feet instead of 4 x 4 than in Melodifestivalen. The new platform is built by the German production.
The dancer
Ausben Jordan has a new starting position, the Swedish delegation, determined on stage the day before the first rehearsal.
– Instead of having him appearing behind her, he will be below the platform during two minutes and then comes up through a hatch. Hopefully the effect will be that he just gets up behind her.
The choreography
– We have put a lot of time to find it even more organic. The hope is to avoid jerks and get everything to flow together even more, says Rennie.
Clothes
At the first rehearsal, Loreen didn’t used her costume, but to cause a bigger impact in the Eurovision, they have developed a new outfit.
– If you liked how it looked in Melodifestivalen, you will really love it now!, says Loreen.
Background screens
Production in Baku has added white snowflakes on a black background as shown on the big screens behind the stage during part of the Swedish contribution, which is visually more sparse than many of the other in the competition.
