When Loreen goes on tour this summer, she will for the first time invest in Swedish songs.

But it won’t be entirely in Swedish.

– I think I will go for a beating if I don’t play “Euphoria”, she says and laughs.

When she participated in “Så mycket bättre” last year, she got to try singing songs in Swedish. It gave her more taste. When Loreen, 37, now goes on tour, it is with a lot of Swedish songs in her luggage.

– This year will be a Swedish year for me. It is very special to sing in Swedish, every word strikes much deeper. Everything I tell you becomes more naked, she says.

But it won’t be entirely in Swedish.

– I don’t have as many songs as I would like, and I think I will go for a beating if I don’t play “Euphoria”, she says and laughs.

Loreen: “Surreal”

Due to the pandemic, she hasn’t been out playing for a large audience for a long time. She has almost a hard time accepting that she will now finally be able to go out on the roads again.

– You are like a little kid, I have longed like hell. Once they opened up, it felt almost unreal.

Wants to produce female producers

Right now, all the free time she has is spent rehearsing and planning the tour. One of Loreen’s goals is that those who come and look at her should feel strengthened when they leave.

– I’m trying to empower women anywhere. It has a lot to do with the fact that I think women should take a position. I have a need to push the boundaries for women, says Loreen.

Above all, she wants to inspire girls to dare to take a place in the music industry. On stage, she will, among other things, show off her skills as a producer.

– Not many people know that I produce and I want to convey this to girls anywhere, because there are a lot of talented, female producers. But it is a very male-dominated profession and we need to make it clear that it is okay for a woman to take the same positions as men for so long. Just as men can take positions that women have taken for a long time and become a little soft, says Loreen.
