Loreen was hailed for her intermission at Melodifestivalen for the song “Paper Light (Higher)”. Now she’s back with a reworked version – this is the video premiere for Loreen’s new single.
– There was a some kind of rebellion in performance at Melodifestivalen, she says.
Loreen made a comeback at Melodifestivalen and appeared in Second Chance. She performed her new song “Paper Light (Higher)” promised a number beyond the ordinary for the program. During the dress rehearsal Loreen performed her number in the jacket, but live the artist was on stage without a shirt – with tape over her breasts.
– The fashion industry may seem very difficult and shallow, it puts an incredible amount of pressure on women and men, especially today. There was some kind of rebellion in performance at Melodifestivalen, I like to look at the different contrasts, says Loreen.
The daring nude number was hailed on social media. Loreen later released a reworked version of the song, “Paper Light Revisited”. And now the video is here.
– It involves a bit more skin and many people may think it is superficial. I don’t care completely in fashion in that way, I don’t follow trends, but I wanted to show you something I think has a depth, everyone’s right to be himself, says Loreen.
“Refused to like it”
She wants to crack the holes on some of the prejudices that are prevalent today with the help of her music video.
– There is a lot of fashion in it. I wanted to clear up some of the organic swamp, people think you should look a certain way if you’re spiritual, but there is so much prejudice there. I refused to like it, it’s been a frustration, says Loreen.
